Fall offers a dreamy combo of soft light, rich tones, and the kind of nostalgia that tugs at your heart. You don’t have to travel far to find stunning backdrops right here in Northeast Ohio. Some of my favorite fall session spots include:
Mill Creek Park (Youngstown): With stone bridges, wooded trails, and waterfalls, this park is a fall dream.
Beaver Creek State Park: Rustic charm meets golden forests. The covered bridge here is a client favorite.
The Poland Municipal Forest: Quiet and less crowded, this gem turns into a glowing tunnel of leaves in late October.
Boardman Park: A great family-friendly location with a mix of open fields and tree-lined paths.

When to Book for Peak Color
In Northeast Ohio, fall colors typically peak between mid-October and early November. The exact timing can shift slightly depending on weather, but I usually recommend scheduling your session for the second or third week of October to hit the sweet spot.
Hint: I book fall sessions months in advance—especially weekends—so if you want those dreamy colors, don’t wait!
What to Wear for Fall Photos
Think cozy, layered, and natural. Earthy tones like rust, mustard, olive, cream, and denim look amazing against the fall backdrop. Here are a few tips:
Avoid overly bright/neon colors—they compete with the natural setting.
