The Ford Nature Center is home to a variety of different features that are perfect for exploring the great outdoors. From the moment you step onto the grounds, you will be surrounded by beautiful nature.


One of the first things you will notice is the stunning waterfall that cascades down the hillside. This is a popular spot for taking pictures and enjoying the peaceful sound of running water.


If you love birdwatching, you will be happy to know that there are plenty of birds to be found throughout the grounds. In addition to the many different species of birds, you may also spot some other wildlife such as squirrels and rabbits.


There are also several walking trails available, which are perfect for getting some fresh air and exercise. These trails wind through woods and meadows and offer stunning views of the surrounding area.

Mill Creek Park, established in 1891 by Volney Rogers, is the first park district in Ohio. The MetroParks spans across various locations throughout Mahoning County, from the City of Youngstown. Mill Creek Park covers over 2,658 acres of the MetroParks' total area of 4,500+ acres. The park offers a plethora of recreational activities such as hiking, biking, boating, fishing, golf, tennis, volleyball, picnicking, cross-country skiing, sledding, and much more. There are 20 miles of drive and 45 miles of trails to explore. Take a relaxing stroll through the beautiful Fellows Riverside Gardens, which includes the Davis Education & Visitors Center. Explore the historic Lanterman's Mill & Covered Bridge, tee off on a 36-hole, Donald Ross designed golf course, and play disc golf on the 9-hole learn-to-play course or the 18-hole championship course at the MetroParks Farm. There are also sand volleyball courts, ball fields, playgrounds, and much more to enjoy. The park boasts of stunning and scenic views.
